Chinanews.com, March 3 -- On March 16, the China Consumers Association released the "Investigation Report on the Consumption of New Energy Electric Vehicles and the Use of Public Charging Piles". The report shows that the policy penetration rate of new energy vehicles and charging piles is high, and consumers are more supportive of the development of new energy vehicles as a whole; The satisfaction of charging pile safety, settlement convenience, repair timeliness and other satisfaction is high, and the satisfaction of charging price and settlement accuracy need to be improved.

It is reported that in order to better understand residents' satisfaction with new energy electric vehicles (hereinafter referred to as "new energy vehicles") and public charging piles, and continue to promote the high-quality and sustainable development of the new energy vehicle industry, the China Consumers Association conducted a special survey on the consumption of new energy electric vehicles and the use of public charging piles in the second half of 2022.

The survey results show that: First, domestic new energy vehicles are welcomed by consumers, and the service life of consumer vehicles is mostly less than 3 years.

Second, respondents generally recognize new energy vehicles, and respondents who use their own charging piles and have short vehicle charging time are highly recommended, and the satisfaction of their own charging pile owners (charging pile adequacy, rational layout, charging price, settlement accuracy, etc.) is higher than that of respondents who choose other charging methods. It can be seen that the installation of private charging piles better meets the charging needs of consumers, effectively improving the convenience of charging new energy vehicles and consumers' experience.

Third, the charging distance and waiting time of public charging piles are generally shorter, which improves the convenience of charging, but there are differences in the results of public charging pile community coverage survey reported by different respondent groups from different channels.

Fourth, the satisfaction with the safety and settlement convenience of the charging pile is high, and the satisfaction rate is above 80%, and the charging price and settlement accuracy need to be further improved. This shows that respondents have high expectations in charging price and settlement accuracy, and expect to further optimize charging charging price and improve settlement accuracy.

Fifth, the charging APP brands are relatively scattered, and the recommendation degree of different brands is obviously different, and the recommendation degree of charging operators of each brand is basically proportional to the net promoter value.

Sixth, the timeliness of the charging pile repair and the satisfaction of service response are relatively high, and the satisfaction rate is more than 78%.

Seventh, the policy penetration rate of new energy vehicles and charging piles is high, and consumers are more supportive of the development of new energy vehicles as a whole. We should continue to increase the publicity of policies related to the construction of new energy vehicles and charging infrastructure, so that consumers can have a fuller and more intuitive understanding of industry development and current policies, so as to promote the consumption willingness of new energy vehicles to further increase.

Eighth, consumers expect charging to save time, money and convenience, consumers are more acceptable to single charging time, single charging price is concentrated within 1 hour and less than 30 yuan respectively, expect to install fast charging piles as much as possible, charging pile location is more convenient.

Nine, no fixed parking space, limited space, property does not allow or cooperate, and immature infrastructure is the main pain point of the difficulty of installing charging piles.

Combined with the investigation of the relevant situation, the China Consumer Association put forward work suggestions: First, reasonably evaluate charging facilities and scientifically layout the construction of charging piles. The second is to improve the electricity price control mechanism and improve the accuracy of settlement. The third is to strengthen key technology research and improve charging efficiency and battery life. The fourth is to strengthen daily operation and maintenance services and improve the convenience of charging. The fifth is to solve the problem of pile source being occupied and reduce the waste of charging resources. Sixth, strengthen industry supervision and protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers. (Zhongxin Finance)
