Amid various efforts to expand the introduction of renewable energy toward the realization of a decarbonized society by 2050, an exhibition introducing the latest technologies such as solar power generation began in Tokyo on the 15th.

The exhibition, which began in Tokyo's Koto Ward, has attracted approximately 1200,1 companies and organizations from Japan and abroad.

Among them, a major electronics manufacturer is exhibiting residential solar panels that are about 1 meter square, which are more than <>% smaller than conventional panels.

Since the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will make it mandatory to install solar panels in new houses from April 2025, it is expected that the installation of solar panels will increase even on narrow roofs, so they have developed a small size.

Manufacturers say that more panels will be able to be installed, which will increase the amount of power generated.

Hirozumi Gosumi, President of Sharp Energy Solutions, said, "We would like to enhance support such as long-term warranties and accelerate the spread of solar panels."

In addition, products in which solar panels are integrated with the roof itself and soft panels that can be attached to bent surfaces were also exhibited at the venue, attracting the attention of visitors.

In addition, technologies for recycling discarded solar panels are also introduced.

The exhibition is open at Tokyo Big Sight until the 4th.
