Regarding AI, new types of AI called "generative AI" that generate text and images with simple commands are appearing one after another, and their use is spreading in various fields such as business and art.



The "AI Art Grand Prix" was held for the first time by an executive committee made up of volunteers such as CG creators and researchers, and at the final screening held in Akihabara, Tokyo, videos, games, and manga created using AI were selected. From 279 submissions such as, 5 works of animation and manga that passed the first screening were judged.



As a result, the video "Desperado by Tsuma Onsen Tori-chan [AI]" by creator Koya Matsuo from Tokyo was selected as the Grand Prix.



This work is a video in which AI is made to learn audio data such as the singing voice and conversation of the deceased wife and photo data, and sings a song with the recreated wife's voice on a newly generated illustration of the wife.



Mr. Matsuo said, "Until now, it was difficult to make speech synthesis smoother, but by using AI, we were able to create something natural. We went through trial and error to figure out what commands to give to the AI ​​to get what we wanted. I was talking.



Yoichiro Kawaguchi, a CG artist and a professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo, headed the jury and said, "I felt that AI would awaken the dormant talents of humans.
