Chinanews, Urumqi, March 10th (Tao Shuanke) On the 10th, the reporter learned from PetroChina Tarim Oilfield Company that the Guole 3C well in the Fuman Oilfield in the hinterland of the Taklamakan Desert in Xinjiang was successfully drilled on the 9th. The deepest horizontal well in Asia was recorded.

In recent years, the Tarim Oilfield has continuously increased its efforts in oil and gas exploration and development in the ultra-deep field, continued to break through the limits of deep oil and gas exploration, and promoted the drilling technology of the Tarim Oilfield to achieve a leap from the 8,000-meter ultra-deep layer to the 9,000-meter ultra-deep layer.

It is reported that the ultra-deep 9396 Miguole 3C well is an ultra-deep sidetracked horizontal well deployed in Fuman Oilfield, which was drilled by PetroChina Bohai Drilling Team BHZ90005.

The well is located in the hinterland of the desert where no one has ever visited. The underground geological structure is extremely complex. The buried depth of oil reservoirs generally exceeds 8,000 meters. Geological understanding and reservoir identification are extremely difficult. It has the characteristics of ultra-deep, ultra-high temperature, and ultra-high pressure, which are rare in the world.

Zhou Bo, deputy director of the Tarim Oilfield Oil and Gas Engineering Research Institute, said: "The successful completion of the Gole 3C well has brought a huge test to the Tarim Oilfield's drilling engineering technology and China's drilling technology and equipment. The difficulty is no less than "threading the needle" 100 meters away. The ultra-deep Gole 3C well that has been drilled so far has set a new record for horizontal wells in Asia."

Shen Biao, manager of the oil and gas production capacity construction department of Tarim Oilfield, said: "The successful drilling of Guole 3C well proves that China's deep oil and gas geological theory and drilling engineering technology have entered the forefront of the world, and it has strongly promoted and led my country's oil industry to enter the deep ground. It has driven the development and progress of technology, equipment and industry in the domestic deep field, and also provided an important technical reserve for the Tarim Oilfield to enter the 10,000-meter ultra-deep formation.”

In recent years, the ultra-deep drilling in the Tarim Oilfield has made major breakthroughs one after another, and it has become one of the important strategic areas for PetroChina to increase reserves and production and develop upstream business in the future.

In 2022, the annual average drilling depth of the Tarim Oilfield will exceed the 7,000-meter mark for the first time, and 72 "underground Everest" wells with a depth of over 8,000 meters have been successfully drilled, and more than 1,600 wells with a depth of over 6,000 meters have been drilled, accounting for more than 80% of China's ultra-deep wells .
