The fully autonomous and controllable demonstration substation with the highest voltage level is also the first security improvement demonstration station of China Southern Power Grid Corporation.
So far, Guangzhou has built 400 substations with a voltage level of 110 kV and above, becoming the first provincial capital city in China with 400 public substations.
The commissioning of Kebei Substation has greatly solved the shortcomings of the insufficient distribution of 500 kV substations in Guangzhou, and the power grid structure has been further improved.
The main building of the Kebei substation adopts an all-steel structure and prefabricated construction technology, which not only meets the high earthquake resistance requirements, but also greatly saves the building space and saves 50% of the construction time compared with the traditional method.
"About 3,000 square meters of photovoltaic panels are installed on the roof of the substation, with an annual power generation of about 300,000 kWh, which can meet the electricity demand of the office and living areas in Kebei Station. Photoconductive non-electric lighting technology is also used in the station to make full use of natural Daylighting saves about 3,000 kWh of electricity per year," said Yao Bingjun, project manager of Kebei Substation.
According to reports, the substation uses 100% domestic technology and materials from chips to equipment, and applies technologies such as photovoltaic power generation, photoconductive non-electric lighting, and 3D architectural printing to save energy and reduce carbon.
"Through the application of technical measures such as building energy saving and equipment energy saving, the Kebei substation has achieved the goal of 'nearly zero energy consumption', becoming the first 500 kV substation with near zero energy consumption in the country, and has set a double-carbon demonstration model." Bi Chaohao, general manager of the infrastructure department of Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau, said.
The Kebei substation has a total investment of 570 million yuan. The construction stage involves more than 20 upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry, directly driving the investment of more than 1 billion yuan in the industrial chain. By 2035, there will be more than 120 power supply radiation enterprises. It is expected to stimulate the surrounding biopharmaceuticals, integrated circuits, Industrial clusters such as new energy vehicles generated over 300 billion yuan in revenue.
After the Kebei substation is completed and put into operation, it will supply sufficient electric energy for the scientific and technological innovation industrial clusters in Huangpu District and High-tech Zone of Guangzhou, greatly improve the voltage quality and power supply reliability, and effectively promote the rapid economic development.
By the end of 2022, the average power outage time of full-scale customers in Guangzhou will be reduced to less than 20 minutes, and the power outage time will be comparable to that of New York, London, San Francisco and other international metropolises, reaching the international advanced level.
With the completion and commissioning of the Kebei substation, the number of public substations in Guangzhou has risen to 400, and the city's power supply capacity will be further improved.
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the total investment in Guangzhou's power grid planning and construction was 57.96 billion yuan, and the average annual investment in power grid construction exceeded 10 billion yuan.
