Total chaos in Huwara, a small town in the occupied West Bank, located south of Nablus.

Israeli settlers carried out a punitive expedition there last night.

 A veritable pogrom

 ,” say Israeli anti-occupation activists.

Settlers burned several Palestinian homes and set fire to dozens of cars.

A Palestinian was shot dead and a hundred others were injured.

The attacks came after two Jewish settlers were shot dead by a Palestinian in Huwara on Sunday.

He is still on the run.

Absolute madness.

Blind revenge.

Two settlers killed yesterday by a Palestinian, and it is a city and all its inhabitants who are paying the price.

All guilty.

Who started first?

Who is the victim ?

Who is the aggressor?

It doesn't matter, it's the thirst for revenge that takes over.

It's exciting

" to take action, says an Israeli settler facing the camera.

It is filmed in the middle of the night, with Huwara on fire in the background.

An almost biblical scene.

The anger, the fury, which descend on men.

Enjoyable.

“

Jews are no longer silenced

 ,” he says.

In this Israeli-Palestinian conflict which has lasted for decades, there are phases of calm and there are periods of uncontrolled violence like at the moment.

“

One and the other surrender almost blow for blow

”, testifies a resident of Huwara this Monday morning.

The Israeli army carries out murderous operations in Palestinian cities, killing fighters and innocent civilians, and behind it, Israelis are also paying the price of the occupation with their lives.

Huwara crystallizes all these tensions

The Palestinian village is on the road to settlements in the northern occupied West Bank.

Here, the settlers reign terror.

For months they have been raiding, beating Palestinians, vandalizing their property.

All under the protection of the army.

Total impunity.

Galvanized by far-right ministers currently in power, they are now spiraling out of control.

We don't do justice to ourselves

," Binyamin Netanyahu told them in a desperate attempt to call for calm.

It's

Kristallnacht

," replied an elected Arab, referring to the pogrom against Jews throughout Nazi Germany in 1938.

This Monday morning, Huwara is deserted.

Everything will remain closed for at least three days

 ," says a resident.

Shops, schools, it is forced confinement to avoid new attacks.
