According to the law, if Urals oil in April is cheaper than benchmark Brent oil (North Sea Dated quote) by more than $34 per barrel, then the price of the Russian mark will be fixed as the cost of Brent minus $34 for tax purposes.

Earlier it was reported that the average price of Urals oil for the monitoring period from January 15 to February 14, 2023 amounted to $50.51 per barrel, or $368.7 per ton.

An expert of the National Energy Security Fund, a lecturer at the Financial University under the Government of Russia, Stanislav Mitrakhovich, in an interview with the Economics Today, commented on the situation with prices for Russian Urals oil.
