Nissin Foods, a major food manufacturer, has decided to raise the price of about 80% of its products, such as its main cup noodles, from June this year.
According to the announcement, about 170 items such as cup noodles and instant bag noodles will be subject to price increases from June 1st shipment.
The rate of increase is from 10% to 13% in the suggested retail price, of which "Cup Noodles" will increase from the current 214 yen without tax to 236 yen, and "Chicken Ramen 5-Serve Pack" from the current 615 yen without tax to 680 yen. It means that

As for the reason, the company says, ``In addition to the soaring prices of raw materials and packaging materials, energy prices continue to rise significantly, and self-help efforts alone cannot absorb costs.''
