The Sony Group has decided to promote executive vice president and CFO Hiroki Totoki to the new president on April 1st.

This is the first change in president in five years, and President Kenichiro Yoshida will continue to serve as chairman and CEO.

According to the announcement, the Sony Group held a meeting of the board of directors on the 2nd, and decided to promote Mr. Hiroki Totoki, vice president and CFO, to the new president on April 1st.



Mr. Totoki is 58 years old.



He joined Sony in 1987, and in 2002 he was appointed CEO of Sony Bank.



After that, he served as the head of a group company in the smartphone business and telecommunications business, and now serves as vice president and CFO, who is in charge of finance.



Totoki will continue as CFO.



On the other hand, President Kenichiro Yoshida, who is also currently Chairman and CEO, will continue to serve as Chairman and CEO with representative rights even after retiring as President.



It will be the first change in president in five years.



While strengthening the entertainment business such as games, the Sony Group has newly entered the field of EV = electric vehicle with Honda.
