China News Service, February 2nd. On the 2nd, the State Council Information Office held a press conference on business work and operations in 2022. Li Xingqian, director of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce, said that entering 2023, the global economic and trade situation has become extremely severe, with downward pressure Significantly increased.
The main contradiction in my country's foreign trade field has changed from the blocked supply chain and insufficient ability to perform contracts last year to the current weakening of external demand and declining orders. This is an important change.
Li Xingqian introduced that the Ministry of Commerce has made it clear that strengthening trade promotion and close supply and purchase docking should be prioritized, and fully support foreign trade companies in grasping orders and expanding markets.
We must do four things well for foreign trade enterprises.
First, restore the physical exhibition.
Implement the deployment of the executive meeting of the State Council on January 28, promote the full resumption of offline exhibitions of domestic trade exhibitions, and hold a series of key exhibitions such as the China International Import Expo, Canton Fair, and China International High-tech Achievements Fair that everyone is familiar with.
Second, make good use of new formats.
Promote the further development of new formats such as cross-border e-commerce and overseas warehouses that have developed rapidly in recent years, make full use of digital means to tap trade potential, and drive small, medium and micro foreign trade enterprises to export.
Third, discover new needs.
Give full play to the role of the economic and commercial institutions of embassies and consulates abroad, and assist local organizations to organize enterprises to carry out trade cooperation abroad.
We need to strengthen research on international market segments, share supply and demand information in various markets in a timely manner, and help companies obtain foreign trade orders in a timely manner.
Fourth, support enterprises to "go out".
Provide more convenience for cross-border business exchanges of foreign trade enterprises, support enterprises to promote Chinese products, Chinese manufacturing, and Chinese brands in various ways, and support qualified places to expand the scale of overseas exhibitions.
