The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) revealed that it has signed agreements with 23 Emirati and international companies, to take advantage of local manufacturing opportunities for a wide range of basic industrial products, at a value of 17 billion dirhams.

The company said in a statement: “The signed agreements confirm the companies’ determination to manufacture these products in the UAE, in support of the (Make in the UAE) campaign, which is part of products worth 70 billion dirhams, within ADNOC’s procurement plans for products that can be manufactured locally. The company has set it in July 2022.

ADNOC emphasized continuing to call on the private sector to take advantage of the commercial opportunities provided by the manufacture of local products that are used within its business in various fields and aspects of the oil and gas sector, through its program to enhance in-country value, and within the framework of ADNOC’s endeavor to expand its business and reduce the emissions of its operations. .

Dr. Saleh Al-Hashemi, head of the Department of Commercial Affairs and In-Country Value Enhancement at ADNOC, said, “(ADNOC) provides opportunities for long-term local manufacturing of products within its procurement plan, in order to contribute to supporting the industrial base in the UAE, and enhancing the flexibility of the company’s supply chains. And within the framework of the company’s endeavor to provide cleaner energy while investing in clean future energies.

He added, "The new agreements establish the role of (ADNOC) as a major engine for industrial growth in the UAE, and provide great potential that contributes to driving economic diversification and creating more job opportunities for qualified citizens."

Al Hashemi continued, "We look forward to working with these companies to implement the important agreements concluded with them, and to achieve sustainable value for the UAE."

It is noteworthy that, during the past year, ADNOC signed agreements for local manufacturing opportunities worth more than 25 billion dirhams with Emirati and international companies.

ADNOC follows a transparent approach to announcing its production expectations, as part of its program to enhance in-country value.

This approach confirms ADNOC's efforts to motivate investors and suppliers to establish manufacturing capabilities in the UAE, and to contribute to the expansion of existing ones.

ADNOC aims to redirect 175 billion dirhams to the UAE economy, through its program to enhance in-country value, as part of its business plan for the next five years (2023-2027).
