According to this, a liter of Super E10 costs EUR 1.745 on average per month – that is 5.5 cents more than in December.

At an average of EUR 1.833 per liter, diesel was around 2.2 cents more expensive in January than in the previous month.

The most expensive day for petrol in the past month was January 29, with a daily average price of 1.788 euros.

The cheapest was Super E10 on January 12 at 1,692 euros.

January 25th was the most expensive for diesel drivers at EUR 1.864, and they had to pay the least on January 12th at EUR 1.794.

"Gasoline overpriced"

Compared to last week, the price of petrol was roughly unchanged recently.

The weekly ADAC evaluation shows that a liter of Super E10 currently costs 1.779 euros nationwide, on average the same as a week ago.

Diesel, on the other hand, has fallen by 2.6 cents and is currently at 1.832 euros.

Good news for diesel drivers: the gap between petrol and diesel prices has fallen again and is now just 5.3 cents.

Just over a month ago, drivers had to pay around ten cents more for a liter of diesel than for a liter of Super E10.

According to the ADAC, petrol is currently “significantly overpriced”.

At a comparable oil price, a liter at the end of December cost almost ten cents less than it currently does.

The margins of the international mineral oil companies have also increased, reports the ADAC.

They would have increased their profits to around 200 billion euros last year.

The financial impact for consumers would have been different: according to ADAC data, 2022 was by far the most expensive tank year of all time.

The period of hyperinflation in Germany before the war was not taken into account because it is not considered comparable.
