China News Service, January 31. The update of the "World Economic Outlook Report" released by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on January 30 shows that the global economic growth is expected to be 2.9% in 2023 and is expected to rise to 3.1% in 2024.

The updated forecast for 2023 is 0.2 percentage points higher than the forecast in the IMF's October 2022 World Economic Outlook Report, but lower than the historical (2000-2019) average of 3.8%.

The report also raised China's economic growth forecast for 2023 from 4.4% to 5.2%.

The report predicts that the U.S. economy will grow by 1.4% in 2023.
