In 2022, my country's online retail market will grow steadily overall.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the national online retail sales will reach 13.79 trillion yuan in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 4%.

Among them, the online retail sales of physical goods was 11.96 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%, accounting for 27.2% of the total retail sales of social consumer goods.

The monitoring of key e-commerce platforms by business big data shows that the national online retail market in 2022 will mainly present the following characteristics:

  First, the sales of some commodity categories achieved double-digit growth.

Among the 18 categories of monitored commodities, the sales growth rate of 8 categories exceeded double digits.

Among them, gold, silver and jewelry, tobacco and wine increased by 27.3% and 19.1% respectively year-on-year.

  Second, the Northeast and Central regions grew rapidly.

Online retail sales in the Northeast and Central regions increased by 13.2% and 8.7% year-on-year respectively, 9.2 and 4.7 percentage points higher than the national growth rate respectively.

Online retail sales in the eastern and western regions increased by 3.8% and 3% year-on-year respectively.

  Third, the online retailing of agricultural products has a good growth momentum.

National rural online retail sales reached 2.17 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%.

Among them, the online retail sales of physical commodities in rural areas were 1.99 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%.

The national online retail sales of agricultural products were 531.38 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.2%, and the growth rate was 6.4 percentage points higher than that in 2021.

  Fourth, cross-border e-commerce is developing rapidly.

According to customs data, my country's cross-border e-commerce import and export (including B2B) will reach 2.11 trillion yuan in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%.

Among them, exports were 1.55 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%, and imports were 0.56 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%.

  Fifth, the new formats and models of e-commerce show vitality.

The cumulative number of live broadcasts on key monitoring e-commerce platforms exceeded 120 million, the cumulative number of viewers exceeded 1.1 trillion, the live broadcast products exceeded 95 million, and the number of active anchors was nearly 1.1 million.

The industries and categories penetrated by instant retail continue to expand, covering more application scenarios and accelerating the arrival of everything at home.
