[Explanation] The first long holiday after the implementation of the "Class B and B Control" of the new crown virus infection has just ended, and the Chinese tourism market has handed in a brilliant report card.

According to calculations by the Data Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, during the Spring Festival holiday in 2023, there will be 308 million domestic tourist trips in China, a year-on-year increase of 23.1%.

[Explanation] The travel reports released by many travel platforms also show that after saying goodbye to "Chinese New Year in situ", this Spring Festival holiday, medium and long-distance travel has recovered steadily, and the travel experience has a strong New Year flavor.

During the Spring Festival holiday, "long-distance travel" continued to heat up, with a year-on-year increase of more than 285%. Warm southern destinations such as Yunnan, Guangdong, and Hainan have become the first choice for long-distance tourists.

"Reunion" has become the main theme of this year's Spring Festival holiday, and family parent-child travel orders accounted for more than 60%.

Traditional New Year's events represented by lanterns, temple fairs, and markets have become the "protagonists" of festivals in various places. Enjoying the festive atmosphere in New Year's events with family members is a new fashion for young people to celebrate the New Year.

Passengers travel farther during the Spring Festival. The average radius of travel has increased by more than 50% year-on-year in 2022, and the travel distance of each passenger has increased by an average of 400 kilometers compared to last year (2022).

The number of hotel room nights booked has reached a record high; the number of hotel orders for consecutive stays of more than 3 days has hit a historical peak, and the average length of stay has increased by 3.6 hours year-on-year.

[Explanation] With the warming up of long-distance travel, many scenic spots have ushered in long-lost crowded scenes.

Hotels, homestays, catering and other supporting industries ushered in a "good start" in the New Year, and recreational projects suitable for sharing by multiple people, such as skiing, lake tours, mountaineering, and camping, are also favored by tourists.

Between the third day of the Spring Festival (first month) and the fifth day of the first month (first month), there are obvious changes, and the number of consultations is relatively high.

Tourists from Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei have more inquiries and orders, and the stay time is longer.

Since the (Beijing) Winter Olympics, alpine ski resorts have also played a leading role in homestays.

[Explanation] As the first long holiday after the liberalization of cross-border travel, the outbound travel market is gradually recovering.

During the Spring Festival, outbound air tickets (bookings) increased by 6.7 times year-on-year in 2022.

The top five destinations are Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the United States, and Indonesia.

With the increase in flight supply and the optimization of epidemic prevention measures in various places, it is expected that the booking volume of international air tickets and international hotels will continue to grow.

In terms of outbound travel, Thailand topped the list of overseas destinations with the highest orders, followed by New Zealand, Japan, Malaysia and the Philippines.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism previously announced that it will resume outbound group travel and "air ticket + hotel" business on a pilot basis starting from February 6. This news has also made many tourists who plan to "stagger the peak travel abroad" start preparing for their trips after the start of the year.

[Explanation] At present, the tourism market in warm climate areas such as Hainan and Yunnan is taking the lead in recovering.

Looking forward to the warm spring and the blooming of flowers, the tourism markets in various parts of China will also be "full firepower" to welcome visitors from all over the world.
