There are many voices saying that it is very difficult because of the rising heating bills on a cold day like this, but other prices are also continuing to rise.

As soon as the Lunar New Year holidays are over, the price of food products such as snacks, bread and beverages is rising one after another.

Reporter Jae Hee-won covered this story.

Starting next month, Lotte Confectionery will raise the price of representative confectionery products by 200 to 300 won, and ice cream by 100 to 200 won.

Haitai Confectionery also raises the price of three snacks by 15%, and Paris Baguette also raises the price of 95 breads by an average of 6.6%.

Jeju Samdasoo, the No. 1 bottled water market share, raised its factory price by an average of 9.8% in five years, and Binggrae, the No. 1 ice cream maker, also joined the increase.

This melon flavored ice cream went up from 800 won last year to 1,000 won, but from next month it will rise another 200 won to 1,200 won.

Right after the Lunar New Year, food industry price hike announcements are continuing like a flood.

Nongshim cereal products, SPC convenience store bread, Woongjin food beverages, Maeil Dairies protein beverages, Lotteria burgers, and so on are countless products that we plan to raise in price.

Food prices such as ramen, soy sauce, and milk continued to rise throughout the year last year, continuing this year.

[Ryu Hyun-seong/Yangcheon-gu, Seoul: Since I can see the price going up, I feel that my bank account balance is decreasing a lot even though I buy the same thing.

Shouldn't water and basic things like this be reduced...

The reason for the increase, according to the food industry, is that it is difficult to cope with the increase in raw material costs that have accumulated since last year.

[Food industry official: (Food products) are under a lot of cost pressure.

Because if you don't raise the price, you can even see a deficit...

Food price hikes are expected to continue, given that latecomers have also shown a trend of raising prices in line with the increase in leading companies.

In particular, if the 9% increase in electricity rates and skyrocketing heating costs are reflected in expenses, the price of goods and services may further fluctuate, which is expected to further increase the burden on households.
