As Yushkov explained, a decision was made to introduce a price ceiling for both Russian oil and Russian oil products.

At the same time, the entry into force of these two types of sanctions was separated in time, because the Europeans needed to prepare, the RT interlocutor added.

“Europeans introduce a separate price ceiling against Russian fuel oil and separately against diesel and all other oil products.

If they introduced a low ceiling against all oil products, then the countries themselves would suffer ... They want to impose sanctions against Russia and not suffer themselves, so they are trying to somehow soften their own decision, ”the expert emphasized.

Earlier, the European Commission put forward proposals for the introduction of price limits for Russian oil products for consideration by the EU states.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the United States has begun discussions with the EU and G7 countries on imposing a price ceiling on Russian oil products.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that it is too early to talk about any loss of Russia's income from the sale of energy resources.
