Savings deposits in the banking sector in the country, excluding interbank deposits, increased to 246.61 billion dirhams at the end of last November, an annual increase of about 7.21 billion dirhams, or 3%, compared to about 239.4 billion dirhams in November 2021, according to the latest statistics of the Central Bank.

The data showed that savings deposits increased during the first 11 months of last year, by 1.98%, compared to about 241.82 billion dirhams at the end of 2021, an increase equivalent to 4.8 billion dirhams, while they increased on a monthly basis by 0.06%, compared to about 246.48 billion dirhams in October 2022. .

And the “Central” statistics showed that demand deposits rose to 903.36 billion dirhams at the end of last November, with an annual growth rate of 10.1%, compared to 820.83 billion dirhams in November 2021, an increase equivalent to 82.5 billion dirhams.

Demand deposits increased during the first 11 months of last year by 6.5%, or the equivalent of 55.3 billion dirhams, compared to 848.04 billion dirhams at the end of 2021, while they decreased on a monthly basis by 1.7%, compared to 918.97 billion dirhams in October 2022.

According to the Central Bank's bulletin, time deposits reached 599.81 billion dirhams at the end of last November, an increase of 17% on an annual basis, compared to about 513.16 billion dirhams in November 2021.

Time deposits increased on a monthly basis by 7.3%, or the equivalent of 40.8 billion dirhams, compared to 559.02 billion dirhams in October 2022, while during the first 11 months of 2022 they increased by 12.4%, compared to 533.57 billion dirhams at the end of 2021.
