Due to the impact of the new corona and the situation in Ukraine, there have been cases of confusion in the international distribution network, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will start building a new distribution route connecting Japan and overseas.

In the process of resuming economic activity from the corona crisis, there was confusion in the transportation of container ships, and due to the influence of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, flights were flying around Russia, and transportation on conventional routes. There is a series of situations where there is a delay.

For this reason, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will embark on a demonstration project to secure another route in case of confusion.

Companies will be selected through public offering, and from March to July this year, they will be transported by a different route connecting Japan with Europe and the United States, and the time, cost, and necessary procedures will be verified.

In place of the confusion caused by the stagnation of container ships on the west coast of the United States, transportation routes via ports in Canada and Mexico, and in response to the situation in Ukraine, connect Europe with railroads via China. I'm assuming routes.

Hirotoshi Otsubo, Counselor in charge of international logistics at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, said, "Even if there is a stagnation in one place, if there are other routes, it is unlikely that the supply chain will be interrupted for a long period of time. We should secure various options in advance. I want to go."
