Among the measures envisaged by the government to cushion the effects of inflation, Bercy is currently working and discussing with large retailers to set up an anti-inflation basket, made up of 20 basic necessities sold at the lowest possible price. 

This is part of the other measures envisaged by the government for the purchasing power of the French: an anti-inflation basket.

The Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire confirmed that discussions were underway with large retailers to propose it.

If for the moment nothing is recorded, this basket could be composed of 20 basic necessities sold at the lowest possible price.

From dairy products to hygiene products

Dairy products, pasta, adult and baby hygiene products, all at reduced prices.

An anti-inflation basket therefore which would be put in place by the major brands.

To convince them, the government is betting on the risk of deconsumption at the start of the year.

Sales usually drop after the holidays, hence the interest for them to set up promotions.

But if Bercy uses this lever it is because a majority bill is tabled this Monday in the National Assembly.

It is intended to rebalance negotiations between suppliers and distributors, but it is accused by the big brands of encouraging inflation, in particular by limiting the extent of promotions.

There are still a few days left for Olivia Grégoire, the Minister Delegate in charge of Consumer Affairs, to convince everyone.

She, who wishes to set up the anti-inflation basket during the month of March.
