According to the latest data from the State Administration of Taxation, in order to promote the consumption of new energy vehicles and green and low-carbon development, the tax department has implemented the vehicle purchase tax exemption policy for new energy vehicles.

The data shows that in the whole year of 2022, my country will exempt a total of 87.9 billion yuan from the purchase tax of new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 92.6%.

This preferential tax policy directly reduces the cost of purchasing a car for consumers.

Take a 250,000 yuan new energy vehicle as an example. After the car purchase tax is exempted, the car purchase can save more than 20,000 yuan.

It is understood that in order to support the development of the new energy vehicle industry, my country has implemented a vehicle purchase tax exemption policy for new energy vehicles since 2014. In September 2022, this policy was extended to December 31, 2023, stabilizing the society. Anticipating and boosting market confidence is of great significance to promoting the high-quality development of my country's auto industry.

Shen Xinguo, Director of the Tax Service Department of the State Administration

of Taxation : As the taxation department recently launched the 2023 "Spring Breeze Action for Convenience in Tax Handling", in the next step, we will continue to introduce more new measures to make taxation easier for the people, ensuring the tax exemption policy for car purchases, etc. The implementation of a series of tax and fee support policies will better support the development of new energy vehicles and other industries, and better serve the overall economic and social development.

With the support of various policies, the sales of new energy vehicles will be booming in 2022.

According to the unified invoice data for motor vehicle sales of the State Administration of Taxation, in 2022, a total of 5.681 million new energy vehicles will be sold, a year-on-year increase of 70.6%; In 2025, the new car sales of new energy vehicles will reach the goal of about 20% of the total new car sales.
