Dubai Chamber of Commerce launches 5 new business groups

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, announced the launch of five new business groups, including the medical equipment business group, the optics and eyewear business group, the plastics and rubber business group, the papers, tissues and stationery business group, in addition to the chocolate and sweets business group.

The new business groups are added to the list of economic sectors and activities that the Dubai Chamber of Commerce focuses on developing and enhancing its contribution to the emirate's economic growth, within the framework of the Chamber's plan to raise the number of economic sectors and activities represented by business groups to 100 sectors and economic activities by March 2023.

And the Chamber stated in a statement yesterday that the new business groups aim to unify the voices of its members, bring them together to discuss challenges and opportunities, and come up with practical and innovative solutions to enhance the performance and competitiveness of the economic sectors and activities they represent, and develop cooperation and partnerships between its members and the various parties concerned to achieve the goals of the business groups.

Business groups represent and protect the interests of their sectors, and play an important role in setting appropriate recommendations for changing policies and regulatory frameworks, thus contributing to improving the competitiveness of the business sectors they represent, adopting international best practices, and supporting economic growth.

The Director General of Dubai Chambers, Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, said that the new business groups will play an important role in supporting their economic sectors and activities, enhancing their competitiveness, stimulating growth, and enhancing the contribution of the private sector represented by business groups in the sustainable development process.

Lootah added that the partnership between the public and private sectors is a top priority in the vision of the wise leadership, especially that Dubai's economic model is a role model for the wise vision and shaping the future.

He stressed that business groups have a great responsibility in keeping pace with the growth process, and working to develop, develop and improve their economic sectors and activities.
