The Central Bank of Russia will resume buying and selling foreign currency as part of the budget rule

“The Bank of Russia, in accordance with the procedure published by the Russian Ministry of Finance, will resume, from January 13, 2023, operations for the purchase (sale) of foreign currency in the domestic foreign exchange market as part of the implementation of the mechanism of the budget rule by the Russian Ministry of Finance,” the message says.

Operations will be carried out in the currency section of the Moscow Exchange in the instrument "Chinese yuan - ruble" with a settlement date of "tomorrow".

Earlier, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that the department plans to introduce the practice of regular purchases of yuan to replenish the NWF.
