Honda's "N-BOX" was the best-selling car in Japan last year, and minicars topped the list for the first time in two years.

According to that, Honda's light car "N-BOX" had the highest sales volume with 202,197 units, which was the top for the first time in two years.



Second place was Toyota's small car "Yaris", which was the top two years ago, with 168,557 units.



Third place was Toyota's "Corolla" with 131,548 units.



The 4th place is Nissan Motor's "Note", the 5th place is Toyota's "Roomy", and the 6th place is Daihatsu's "Tanto", and half of the top 10 models are light cars.



On the other hand, in EV = electric vehicles, sales of minicar-sized EVs jointly developed by Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors increased, of which Nissan's "Sakura" was 21,887 units and Mitsubishi's "eK Cross EV" was 4,175 units. The unit has sold.



In addition, Nissan's "Leaf" reached 12,732 units, an increase of 17% from the previous year.



As a result, 1.7% of passenger cars sold in Japan, including mini passenger cars, were EVs last year, surpassing 1% for the first time.
