China News Service, Haikou, January 8 (Reporter Fu Yuqun) The reporter learned from Hainan Airport Group on the 7th that during the Spring Festival travel period this year, the airports under the Hainan Airport Group are expected to transport more than 5.7 million passengers.

Among them, the three major airports on Hainan Island (Haikou Meilan International Airport, Sanya Phoenix International Airport, and Boao Airport) are expected to complete more than 35,000 flight movements and transport about 5.2 million passengers.

  During the Spring Festival Golden Week this year (January 21-January 27), the three major airports in Hainan Island are expected to perform more than 6,000 flights and guarantee about 920,000 passengers.

It is estimated that around January 27 (the sixth day of the first lunar month) the peak flow of flights during the Spring Festival travel season will be reached, and the peak number of passengers in a single day is expected to exceed 150,000.

  During the Spring Festival travel season this year, 11 airports under the Hainan Airport Group have newly opened, resumed and increased key routes, and it is estimated that overtime flights will exceed 2,200.

Among them, in order to meet the needs of passengers from Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xi'an, Harbin, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Shenyang, Tianjin and other important source places to travel to Hainan, the three major airports in Hainan Island have coordinated airlines to continuously increase popular routes. Use existing flight plans on important routes, and replace wide-body aircraft in due course.

  In terms of international and regional routes, Haikou Meilan International Airport plans to continue to increase the frequency of passenger flights between Haikou and Hong Kong, and is expected to open international passenger routes in Southeast Asia; Sanya Phoenix International Airport plans to open a cargo route between Singapore and Sanya; Manzhouli Airport plans to resume Mongolia passenger flight from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of the country.
