Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has been crowned with the prestigious Global Council of Excellence 2022 award, based in the United States, in the category of “Institutional Achievements”, in recognition of the global authority’s achievements in the field of comprehensive quality and excellence.

The Authority is the only entity that wins this category in the second round of the award for the year 2022 at the global level, outperforming 988 entities from 16 countries and scoring 94% in the evaluation conducted by the International Council of Excellence according to the Baldrige model.

DEWA's Managing Director and CEO, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, expressed his pride in this global achievement, which is added to DEWA's record of world-leading awards and achievements, making it one of the best and most efficient service organizations in the world.

He said that the authority's superiority over the elite international bodies confirms its position as one of the most distinguished service institutions in the world.

Al Tayer added that the authority has succeeded in making excellence a well-established corporate culture by adopting the latest technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, along with innovation as a fundamental pillar for continuous development and improvement, to achieve the goals of the "UAE Centennial 2071", to make the UAE the best country in the world.

He explained that by the end of 2022, the authority had provided its services to more than 1.1 million customers, according to the highest standards of sustainability, efficiency, availability and reliability.

In turn, the Executive Vice President for Business Development and Excellence Sector at DEWA, ​​Eng. Walid bin Salman, confirmed that the authority spares no effort to achieve excellence in all fields and at all levels.

He pointed out that the authority won 23 prestigious regional and international awards from the beginning of the year 2022 until the end of last November, bringing the total awards won by the authority from 2015 until the end of November 2022 to 407 awards (68 local, 69 regional, 270 international).
