It has been revealed that the cause of the Suseo High-Speed Railroad SRT accident last week was the use of an inappropriate adhesive during tunnel repair work.

SR said that safety cannot be secured with the current maintenance system, and that it will separate from KORAIL and go its own way.

On the 30th of last month, train operations were canceled one after another due to an accident in which electricity was cut off on the SRT train wires.

Train service was stopped for two days, and 13 billion won was spent on vehicle restoration and customer compensation.

To repair the leaking tunnel ceiling, a non-woven fabric made of carbon fiber was attached, and the accident occurred when the non-woven fabric fell on a tram line that supplies electricity.

SR, a train operator who conducted an investigation, confirmed that summer glue was used instead of winter glue during the repair process.

The summer glue took twice as long to harden, so it didn't hold properly.

[Lee Jong-guk/SR CEO: (Accident) occurred due to poor use of materials and poor management in the repair process.

It is unstable with the current maintenance system.]

Currently, KORAIL is in charge of maintenance and facility management of high-speed rail facilities across the country.

SR said that even after the accident, power was supplied unreasonably, and 67 main power converters were also damaged, and Korail's poor management was the problem.

He said that he would fully review the vehicle maintenance consignment contract signed with KORAIL, and in effect declared a breakup with KORAIL.

Korail objected.

According to the regulations, "there is no obligation to take responsibility for repairing defects that occurred during construction," and announced that he would make an official position soon.

It is expected that the battle between the two sides will grow over responsibility for the accident.
