On the first day of the new year, a major event is the test flight of the world's first C919 large passenger aircraft of China Eastern Airlines.

Today's first verification flight, flight number MU7809, flew from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to Beijing Daxing International Airport.

Chen Qiao, a reporter from CCTV at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, witnessed the first flight of C919 in the new year with everyone.

CCTV reporter Chen Qiao: First of all, I would like to greet everyone on the air traffic control tower of Shanghai Hongqiao Airport: Happy New Year!

Today's verification flight of the world's first domestically produced large aircraft C919 officially started at 8:30 am.

This is the ninth verification flight of the C919 since December 26, 2022, and it will also be the first flight in the New Year in 2023.

It is understood that the C919 will have a total of 100 hours of verification flights.

Proof flight and certification checks ensure a safe and comfortable ride

The verification flight is mainly to verify the airline's ability to safely operate the C919 aircraft. The domestic large aircraft C919 is a brand new model.

Some people use its R&D application as a vivid analogy, R&D and manufacturing is the "first half", and transferring to commercial operations is the "second half".

Completing the airworthiness certification and obtaining the certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration marks the successful conclusion of the first half, and whether the "second half" can start smoothly, the 100-hour empty aircraft verification flight and the verification and inspection of the verification results by the Civil Aviation Administration.

As the first user, China Eastern Airlines also needs to provide the relevant departments with a large amount of data accumulated in the verification flight and operation support experience, so as to help the continuous optimization and improvement of new models.

Some experts pointed out that the development of civil aviation is a barometer of a country's economic development. The ratio of the civil aviation industry to tourism, manufacturing and other related industries has reached 1:8. The prosperity of the civil aviation industry marks the strength of a country.

Looking forward to the early commercial operation of the large aircraft produced by our country.

I wish the country's economic development is like our big plane - flying higher and getting stronger.
