UnionPay introduced restrictions on cash withdrawals from Russian cards abroad

“The UnionPay payment system has introduced restrictions for all Russian banks on cash withdrawals outside of Russia,” the statement said.

It is noted that the holders of these cards will be able to withdraw no more than 50 thousand yuan (about 500 thousand rubles at the exchange rate of the Central Bank on December 29) per day or the equivalent of this amount in other currencies and no more than 500 thousand yuan per year or the equivalent of this amounts in other currencies.

On December 23, VTB Bank Kazakhstan launched the possibility of issuing digital cards of the MIR payment system for retail customers.
