The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH) reports that at least five people, including two women suspected of having links with the Islamic State (IS) group, were arrested on Thursday in Raqqa, in the north of Syria.
On the same day, the jihadists carried out at least two attacks against patrols of Kurdish forces.
The operation against the Islamic State group comes three days after a deadly attack on the headquarters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Raqqa.
A state of emergency and a curfew have been declared there.
More than 200 actions against the FDS since the beginning of the year
The SDF want to "
eliminate the terrorist cells of the Islamic State group and chase them out of areas, which have been the scene of recent attacks
", indicates a press release from the Kurdish forces.
The text mentions "
eight attempted attacks
" against the
al-Hol camp
, where more than 50,000 relatives of jihadists are detained, and in the regions of Hassaké and Deir Ezzor, in the east.
The OSDH has counted, since the beginning of the year, more than 200 actions carried out by IS fighters against the SDF in the Kurdish autonomous regions.
These attacks left 150 dead, including more than 50 civilians, in addition to the 500 dead who died during the attack on a
prison in Hassaké
last January.
