According to her, all foreign currency loans, including those in yuan, are risky for borrowers, since the income of Russians is mostly denominated in rubles.

She noted that when a loan is denominated in a currency, it makes a person vulnerable to currency fluctuations.

“We expect that there will be no significant volumes of retail loans in yuan,” Danilova said in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.

Earlier, the head of the Russian Ministry of Finance, Anton Siluanov, said that the department plans to introduce the practice of regular purchases of yuan to replenish the NWF.
