Pedro Sánchez

has announced in the last Council of Ministers of the year a reduction in VAT on certain products in the shopping basket with the aim of stopping the escalation of prices, which in November grew to

15.4 in the interannual rate

.

Among the measures announced, the

abolition of VAT on

basic necessities

such as milk, eggs, fruits and vegetables, bread or legumes stands out, which at the moment had 4%.

In the case of

oil

or

pasta

, two of the products that have become more expensive in the last year,

31.5%

and

21.5%

respectively, a

5%

discount will be applied , going from 10% to 5%.

These measures are part of the third anti-crisis decree and will also include a

check for 300 euros

so that vulnerable families with incomes of less than 27,000 euros, or pensioners, can face the impact that inflation is having on their pockets.
