Clear files that are discarded in large quantities in offices.

In an effort to reduce plastic waste, a new collection and recycling initiative has begun.

Efficient collection of clear files used in offices is limited, and mass disposal has become an issue.

Efforts are being made to set up a collection box in the office and recycle them all at once in order to create a mechanism for this collection.

Collected files are sent to recycling companies by mail, etc., and from this month, ballpoint pens made of recycled plastic have also been sold.

Each company bears the cost of mailing, but 680 companies from all over the country are participating in the initiative.

Mr. Takemi Tachibana of the ASKUL Sustainability Department, who created the collection system, said, "I hope many companies will participate and use this activity as an opportunity to expand to other types of recycling."
