Since December, China Railway Hohhot Bureau has successively resumed 64 suspended trains according to changes in passenger flow.
At present, China Railway Hohhot Bureau operates more than 80 passenger trains every day, and the order of railway passenger transportation in the central and western parts of Inner Mongolia has basically resumed.
The official said that starting from the 24th, the passenger flow of the railways in central and western Inner Mongolia is expected to usher in a significant increase. The railway department will increase transport capacity in various ways to ensure the smooth travel of passengers.
The 2023 Spring Festival travel season will last for 40 days from January 6 to February 15. It is expected that the passenger flow before the festival will mainly be returning home and visiting relatives, and after the festival will be mainly migrant workers, students and tourists.
The peak passenger flow is expected to occur on January 17 (the 26th of the twelfth lunar month), January 20 (the 29th of the twelfth lunar month), January 24 (the third day of the first lunar month), January 27 (the sixth day of the first lunar month), and January 30 (the ninth day of the first month) and February 6th (the sixteenth day of the first month).
The peak ticket buying period is expected to appear around January 2 and January 17.
The railway department said that judging from the current ticket sales situation, the passenger flow in central and western Inner Mongolia is mainly concentrated in the intercity areas of Hohhot, Baotou, Ordos, Linhe, Wuhai and other regions, as well as between Hohhot and Baotou and Beijing.
It is expected that as more passengers begin to arrange their own itineraries, the passenger flow from Hohhot and Baotou to Tongliao, Chifeng, Hulunbeier, Shanghai and Guangzhou will also increase significantly.
During the Spring Festival travel period, the railway department will also adopt various methods such as opening trains to meet passengers, expanding and adding trains, etc. to increase transport capacity and meet passenger travel needs.
