According to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the power supply and demand for the week from the 24th to the 30th of this month has a "reserve rate" that indicates the surplus of supply in all areas of the country on any day, the minimum required for stable supply is 3%. is expected to greatly exceed

On the 26th of this month, the reserve rate of the nine major electric power companies, excluding Okinawa Electric Power Co., is the lowest at 13.5%.

The government has been requesting companies and households nationwide to save electricity since this month, but we will take measures to secure additional power sources, such as restarting thermal power plants that have been suspended.

Furthermore, in preparation for this winter, each electric power company has carried out repairs and inspections of thermal power plants earlier than usual, which means that a stable supply can be secured even in the severe cold.

However, in the future, if the cold becomes more severe or troubles at the power plant due to an earthquake, etc., there is a possibility that the supply and demand for electricity may become tight, and we are calling on people to continue to save electricity within reasonable limits.
