Swedish clothing giant H&M has announced it is withdrawing a

Justin Bieber

-branded collection from sale after the Canadian singer said he

had not given his approval for the "junk"

.

"The H&M merchandising they did with my name is rubbish and I didn't approve. Don't buy it," the 28-year-old star said in a message on Instagram.

In addition, Bieber claimed that the range was put up for sale

"totally without my permission"

, a claim denied by the company, with which the artist has previously collaborated.

"As with all other licensed products and collaborations,

H&M has followed the appropriate approval procedures,

" a company spokesperson said in an email.

H&M assures that it has withdrawn the entire range from sale "out of respect" for the artist.

"But out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber we have removed the clothing from our stores and online,"

the statement added.
