The government, which received the 'white flag surrender' by the cargo union in response to the strike, is now entering an all-out war against the construction union.

It is expected that a series of omnidirectional responses, such as the Fair Trade Commission's investigation into the construction union, will follow.

Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong visited the construction site of an apartment in Sejong City on the morning of the 20th to collect industry opinions on illegal activities by the construction union.

At this meeting, Minister Won said, “If the construction union forces recruitment and use of equipment at the construction site, and extorts money and goods in the name of monthly wages, most ordinary workers who should be properly treated and get jobs through human resources offices or brokerage apps suffer. "The government will not neglect it any longer," he said.

Minister Won criticized the construction union in a strong tone, saying, "The construction union is becoming a parasitic poison to the economy," saying that the productivity that has fallen due to illegal activities is reflected in the production cost and sale price of construction companies.

He continued, "In the meantime, 'armband troops' wearing vests from the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions have been neglected at construction sites, but the new government will not neglect them no matter what difficulties they face."

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, along with the police, will conduct a special crackdown on illegal activities at construction sites for 200 days until June 25 next year.

It is a policy to look into past incidents such as the practice of paying monthly wages to tower crane operators by construction subcontractors in charge of foundation and frame work, forced construction union members to join, and forced recruitment.

Minister Won said, "Receiving monthly wages at construction sites is illegal as it is a violation of the Fair Trade Act, which is prohibited by business groups."

In the process, Minister Won said that if they do not provide data or use force or violence, they will be investigated by the prosecution and the police.

He also took issue with the accounting treatment of trade unions.

He noted that perfunctory audits by internal auditors elected by unions were particularly problematic.

Minister Won said, "As union dues pile up, there are many workers who raise questions about forced strikes or collective actions to spend them, and political struggles nationwide."

At the same time, he emphasized, "It is time to review and legislate the mandatory use of corporate cards for union operating expenses, etc."
