Tetsuya Kikuta will be appointed as the new president of major life insurance company Dai-ichi Life Holdings.

Mr. Kikuta is 58 years old.

He joined The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company in 1987, and after serving as General Manager of Investment Planning Department and General Manager of Investment Headquarters, he has been Senior Managing Director of Dai-ichi Life Holdings since April last year.



His appointment will take place on April 1, 2018.



At a press conference, Mr. Kikuta said, "Inflation and rising interest rates have increased uncertainty in financial markets. The situation will continue to be volatile next year and beyond, but there are both risks and opportunities. Business opportunities. I would like to think about the opportunities that I can do and work on them."



Seiji Inagaki, president of Dai-ichi Life Holdings and subsidiary Dai-ichi Life Insurance, will be appointed chairman in April next year.



Managing Director Shunsuke Sumino will be promoted to president of Dai-ichi Life Insurance.
