The financial investor Advent buys the US satellite company Maxar Technologies for four billion dollars.

Advent pays $53 for a share, Maxar announced on Friday.

That is a premium to the closing price of the previous evening of around 129 percent.

Maxar operates satellites, uses them to observe changes on Earth and analyze the data.

Images of war scenes from Ukraine often come from the Colorado company.

In March, the company had earth observation satellites

Pictures of the Bucha, which was occupied by Russian troops at the time.

It showed lifeless bodies lying on the street.

At the time, Maxar left the pictures to the "New York Times" for publication.

Maxar's customers also include the US government and the navigation company TomTom.
