The center pointed out that the hotel and restaurant activity in the country achieved the highest growth among non-oil economic activities during the first half of this year, with an exceptional growth rate of 31.3%, followed by the transportation and storage sector, which achieved a growth of 26.8%, then the health and social services sector, with a growth rate of 26.8%. by 20.1%, followed by the real estate sector, which grew by 8.7%, and then the wholesale and retail trade sector, with a growth of 7.2%.

As for the UAE trade during the first half of this year, which achieved a quantum leap by exceeding one trillion dirhams, with a growth rate of 17%, the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics stated that the most important non-oil commodities exported by the UAE are raw gold with a value of 60 billion dirhams, diamonds with 38 billion dirhams, and telephones. And other devices to connect to networks with a value of 37.7 billion dirhams, in addition to oils and light petroleum products with a value of 24.2 billion dirhams, as well as jewelry with a value of 22.2 billion dirhams.

The “UAE in Numbers” report, issued by the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics yesterday, showed that the first half of this year witnessed the hosting of 12 million guests in hotel establishments in the country, compared to 19.3 million guests during the entire year 2021, who spent 45 million hotel nights compared to 77 million nights. hotel last year.
