The cargo unions, which had already staged two strikes in June demanding the abolition of the sunsetting system, declared a general strike about a month before the end of the sunsetting system, claiming that the government had not kept its promise to discuss the safe fare system.

The government and the ruling party proposed a proposal to 'extend the safe fare system for 3 years, instead of expanding items', but the cargo union went on a general strike demanding the permanent safe fare system and the expansion of items.

The cement industry was first hit by a direct hit, and construction was stopped at various construction sites, and gasoline and diesel were sold out at gas stations.

The government estimated the scale of disruptions in shipments in major industries to be 3.5 trillion won.

[Manufacturer CEO: We need to make it as soon as possible, but the time delay is so huge that the company loses a lot of money.] As

the damage grew, the government came up with a tougher-than-expected countermeasure and weakened the strike force.

For the first time in history, the truck driver who did not return to work after issuing the order to start work in the cement field was pressed while accusing him, and it was expanded to oil refining and steel.

It is difficult to make a living due to the strike, but the economic pressure of being subject to sanctions for non-compliance with the order to start work has led to the departure.

Amid deteriorating economic conditions at home and abroad, public opinion has also turned its back.

As a result of a Gallup Korea survey, 71% supported the withdrawal of the strike, saying 'negotiations must be made after returning'.

Faced with a situation where even the three-year extension of the safe fare system would be unprecedented, the cargo union finally decided to withdraw the strike.

The strike, which ended in 15 days, left considerable aftereffects throughout the industry and labor world.
