Chinanews.com, December 9 (Xie Yiguan, China News Finance reporter) "It was originally for beauty, but it was almost disfigured in the end." This is the voice of many women who have suffered from medical beauty.

In recent years, the domestic medical aesthetics industry has developed rapidly. Many people enter the plastic surgery hospital with the idea of becoming beautiful, thinner, and younger, but the results are not necessarily as beautiful as imagined. Bumpy... Some girls don't even have the confidence to step out of the house anymore.

Why is the medical beauty industry not beautiful?

"Everyone who sees me will ask, what's wrong with my face?"

Xiaobei (pseudonym), who lives in Shandong, still regrets going for cosmetic surgery.

In December last year, Beckham underwent ultra-picosecond freckle removal surgery in a plastic surgery hospital. After half a month of surgery, the scabs on the face fell off, and then began to turn black seriously. "The whole face is full of mottled black spots. Everyone saw I always ask what's wrong with your face?"

The follow-up doctor's indifferent attitude made Xiaobei even more angry. "At first, the doctor said that it would take about 3 months to recover, and then he said that it would take half a year at most. After half a year, he still didn't recover. He just said to do more water and light to promote recovery. At 10 months I went to them again and wanted them to diagnose specific skin problems, but the doctor just told me to continue applying water and light without explaining the specific reason, saying that anti-darkness has something to do with personal physique.”

But what makes Beckham wonder is, if there is a physical problem, why some places on the face are not blackened, and some places are seriously blackened. Could it be a problem with the doctor's technique?

During the communication with the reporter, Xiaobei also revealed that the friends who went to do super pico seconds together also had a darkening phenomenon on their faces, which has not recovered yet.

Not only Beckham, but also Nan Nan (pseudonym), who was preparing for marriage this year, also "stepped on the hole" in a plastic surgery hospital in Wuhan.

"I saw that this hospital had a high score through the scoring app and claimed that it was a public hospital, so I chose this hospital." Nan Nan told reporters that after using photoelectric treatment for chloasma, the spots on his face became larger. , color sinking, increased red blood and other problems.

In addition to the adverse effects on the face, according to Nannan's description, the service experience during the medical treatment process is also very poor. "Doctors will only send you advertisements, and will not take the initiative to ask about the situation. They also induce recharge consumption, 880 yuan for acid brushing, M22 (Photon Skin rejuvenation instrument) 1280 yuan once for the whole model.”

Among the aesthetic medical crowd, examples such as Xiaobei and Nannan are not uncommon. Recently, "3 people received fat-melting injections in a beauty salon and caused severe skin ulceration" was once on Weibo's hot search.

On the consumer service platform Black Cat Complaints, there are many complaints about medical beauty, and the complaints focus on false propaganda, forced consumption, inadequate services, and product quality problems.

For example, a consumer said that when he was lying on the operating table during nose and chin surgery, the director asked him to add money and sign to change the operation plan.

She bluntly said, "The hospital made me change from a real person to a dummy, and a dummy to a defective product."

A reporter from China New Finance and Economics noticed that in recent years, complaints related to medical beauty have been growing rapidly.

From 2015 to 2020, the annual number of complaints received by the National Consumers Association from the medical and beauty industry increased from 483 to 7,233, an increase of nearly 14 times; The annual growth rate is as high as 122.01%.

Medical beauty institutions are blooming everywhere, but physician resources are extremely scarce

Yin Hongyu, Director of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery at Beijing Shijitan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, who has been in the industry for many years, told the reporter of Zhongxin Finance and Economics that there are currently some irregularities among practitioners in the medical and aesthetic industry.

For example, there are still unqualified personnel practicing medicine illegally in private. On the one hand, it is difficult to verify the degree of technical compliance, and on the other hand, the aseptic environment of the operation, the performance of the equipment used, and the quality of the product cannot be guaranteed.

"In addition, some injections and other medical beauty products used in individual medical beauty-related operations may also have problems such as unclear qualifications and unknown sources." Yin Hongyu said that many factors have caused consumers to be dissatisfied with postoperative results and even disfigured. And so on.

The "White Paper on China's Medical Cosmetology Industry Insights in 2020" released by iResearch shows that in 2019, there are about 13,000 institutions with medical cosmetology qualifications in China. Among the legal medical cosmetology institutions, more than 2,000 institutions operate beyond their scope.

In addition, more than 80,000 life beauty stores illegally carry out medical beauty projects, laying hidden dangers for medical beauty accidents.

There are so many medical aesthetic institutions, but in contrast to them are scarce physician resources.

If calculated on the basis of non-multi-site practice, the standard demand for physicians in 13,000 medical and aesthetic institutions reaches 100,000, but the 2018 Statistical Yearbook of the Health and Medical Commission shows that the number of physicians (including assistants) in plastic surgery hospitals is only 3,680.

According to the "Measures for the Administration of Medical Cosmetology Services", the attending physician responsible for the implementation of medical cosmetology projects should not only have the qualifications of practicing physicians, but also those responsible for the implementation of cosmetic surgery projects should have more than 6 years of clinical work experience in cosmetic surgery or plastic surgery, etc. Those responsible for the implementation of cosmetic dermatology projects should have more than 3 years of professional clinical work experience in dermatology. In addition, they must have undergone professional training or advanced training in medical cosmetology and have passed, or have been engaged in clinical work of medical cosmetology for more than 1 year.

Demand has spawned "flying knife doctors" and "fake experts"

The contradiction between the strong demand for medical aesthetics and the long period of doctor training has led to the emergence of "flying knife doctors", which has spawned a large number of illegal practitioners who claim to be "doctors and experts". practice medicine".

This year's CCTV "March 15" party revealed that the threshold for recruiting students for general medical and aesthetic training courses known as "zero foundation" and "inclusive education package" is extremely low.

In a general class of St. Jialihe, 14 students came from all over the country. None of them had a medical background, but after 6 days of study, they all obtained the so-called advanced certificate of micro-plastic beautician.

Although Nan Nan didn't know whether the doctor who operated for her was compliant, she said, "The doctor who made an appointment for her, the one who consulted her, and the one who did the project at the end were not the same person at all."

It is difficult to distinguish the true and false of medical beauty instruments, and there are many "routines" in low-price traps

In addition to the mixed medical practitioners, medical beauty equipment is also difficult to distinguish between true and false.

In 2021, a black industrial chain of Thermage from research and development to medical beauty terminals was investigated by the Shanghai police.

According to reports, the price of counterfeit Thermage instruments is only 2,000 to 5,000 yuan each, and the price of counterfeit probes is 50 to 100 yuan each, but these products are finally used on consumers' faces.

Data map: The Suichang police, in conjunction with the local market supervision and management bureau, seized on the spot a criminal suspect suspected of selling counterfeit medicines by injecting micro-plastic surgery in a local hotel, and seized 8 botulinum toxin and 2 boxes of hyaluronic acid on the spot.

In addition, medical cosmetology is an industry where "the smell of wine is also afraid of deep alleys". In order to attract customers, some medical cosmetology institutions exaggerate the effect of medical cosmetology through false advertisements, fabricating user reviews, etc., or induce them with "low prices". The price increase also leads to extremely poor consumer experience.

"At present, most of the operators and investors of medical aesthetic institutions in the market are non-medical personnel, and the starting point of commercial operation will be different from that of medical personnel." Yin Hongyu said that there will be some situations, for example, the level of doctors employed varies. Uneven, easy to expand publicity, competition disrupts market prices.

"With the promulgation of the new advertising law, the promotion of medical aesthetics has become more and more standardized. When there was no strict supervision before, individual medical aesthetics practitioners were packaged as 'the first person' and other banners to promote externally in order to attract consumers. The purpose of beauty." Yin Hongyu said.

Relevant departments take action to rectify consumer rights protection and should preserve good evidence

A reporter from Zhongxin Finance and Economics noticed that in recent years, relevant departments have frequently taken actions to rectify the chaos in the field of medical beauty, putting a "curse" on medical beauty.

From September 2022, 11 departments, including the State Administration for Market Regulation, will carry out special campaigns to deal with outstanding issues in the medical and beauty industry across the country.

The General Administration of Market Supervision stated on the 8th that in the next stage, on-site inspections of relevant medical and beauty institutions, life beauty institutions and other units and places will be strengthened, investigations will be strengthened, and the execution of sentences will be strengthened. Medical cosmetology illegal and criminal cases.

In the face of more and more minors joining the "army" of medical aesthetics and plastic surgery, the "Beijing Regulations on the Protection of Minors (Revised Draft)" has undergone its first trial a few days ago, intending to restrict the provision of medical aesthetic services to minors.

"In recent years, the country has made great efforts to rectify the chaos of medical aesthetics, and the industry has improved a lot. In this regard, as regular professional plastic surgeons, we are very supportive. We also hope to have a standardized medical aesthetic environment that is beneficial to customers. .” Yin Hongyu said.

Although the medical aesthetics industry has been regulated under supervision, due to the lack of self-protection awareness of consumers, the road to rights protection is full of difficulties.

Both Xiaobei and Nannan experienced a lot of ups and downs, and even said they had to complain to the relevant departments before the hospital agreed to refund all the items that were not included in the package.

Xiaobei also revealed, "A victim of medical beauty was applying for medical malpractice before. She said that she had to go to the hospital to seal up her medical records for subsequent rights protection, but when I went to the hospital to inquire, the hospital said that there were no medical records."

On social platforms, many medical beauty consumers also mentioned that during the process of rights protection, they encountered situations where hospitals refused to provide medical records or even tampered with them.

"Consumers in the process of medical beauty consumption, if they encounter the problem of damage to their rights and interests, they should keep relevant evidence in time, and can apply for medical appraisal when necessary." If the negotiation fails, you can apply to a consumer association or other professional mediation organization for mediation, or you can file a complaint with the relevant administrative department.

In addition, you can also protect your legitimate rights and interests in accordance with the law by applying for arbitration or filing a lawsuit in the court.
