The completed output value was 17.46 billion yuan, 1.55 times that of last year, and the release of new energy vehicle production capacity is accelerating.

  The relevant person in charge of the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone stated that in recent years, the district has seized the opportunity period of the transformation of the automobile industry, accelerated the cultivation and development of the new energy automobile industry, promoted the high-end, intelligent, and green development of the manufacturing industry, and then accelerated its entry into the new Energy car race track.

  Accelerated release of new energy vehicle production capacity

  Located in the southwest of Wuhan, Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone now gathers the headquarters of Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd., one of the world's top 500 companies, 9 complete vehicle companies, 13 complete vehicle factories, and more than 500 well-known auto parts companies. It has become the most densely populated automobile industry in China. One of the regions, it has won the reputation of "China Car Valley".

  In the first nine months of this year, the sales volume of Dongfeng Fengshen E70, a pure electric vehicle, exceeded 50,000 units, doubling year-on-year; Honda’s first pure electric vehicle in China, Dongfeng Honda e: NS1, was launched in April; since delivery began in August 2021, Lantu Automobile has delivered more than 20,000 high-end smart electric vehicles...

Right now, Mengshi Science and Technology Industrial Park in Wuhan Economic Development Zone is under construction in full swing. After it goes into production next year, it will have a production capacity of 100,000 complete vehicles, and at a rate of no less than one new model per year, it will seize the opportunity in the luxury electric off-road market.

  At present, with Lantu Automobile, Dongfeng Yunfeng, Lotus and other car companies successively put into production, the proportion of new energy models of Dongfeng Honda, Shenlong Automobile, Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle and other enterprises has increased, and the construction of new energy projects such as Mengshi Technology and Dongfeng Honda Speeding up, the new energy vehicle production capacity of "China Auto Valley" is accelerating.

  Make efforts to strengthen the industrial chain to the "core"

  A fuel car needs to carry about 1,000 chips on average, and new energy vehicles are even more "chip" users.

For this reason, "China Car Valley" focuses on automotive chips and vigorously strengthens the industrial chain.

  In June 2019, Dongfeng Corporation and CRRC jointly established Zhixin Semiconductor Co., Ltd. in Wuhan, and began to independently develop and produce automotive-grade IGBT modules.

After two years of collaborative research, the production line based on the world-class 6th generation IGBT technology has started mass production, and the first batch of self-produced automotive-grade IGBT module products in Central China has officially rolled off the assembly line.

  "The IGBT modules put into production can meet the high reliability requirements of automotive-grade products, and are at least 10% cheaper than similar imported products." The person in charge of the company introduced that the production line has an annual output of 300,000 IGBT modules and has been successfully installed in Dongfeng Fengshen. , Lantu and other brand models.

At present, the second-phase project construction plan has been launched, and the annual production capacity will reach 1.2 million.

  In the field of automotive-grade chips, such as power chips and control chips, which are in short supply, Dongfeng Corporation plays the role of the leader of the industrial chain and cooperates with industry partners to strive for self-breakthrough.

Not only has it reached a strategic cooperation with China Xinke to promote the deployment of automotive-grade MCU chips in Wuhan, it has also led the Hubei Provincial Automotive-grade Chip Industry Technology Innovation Consortium formed by 9 companies, universities, and scientific research institutions to settle in Wuhan Economic Development Zone.

  According to the plan, in the next two to three years, the production capacity of new energy vehicles in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone will account for more than 50%, which will bring nearly 100 billion yuan in supporting demand for batteries, motors, electronic controls, chassis components, sensors and other components. This has attracted well-known auto parts companies at home and abroad to rush to the beach and deploy, and China Auto Valley's auto industry chain has been extended and strengthened.

  Seize the new track of intelligent networked vehicles

  Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone is a pilot project of "intelligent network connection and smart city coordinated development", a pilot project of "building a powerful transportation country" and a "national intelligent network vehicle (Wuhan) test demonstration zone". New technologies such as collaboration and artificial intelligence have created multi-dimensional application scenarios for intelligent networked vehicles.

  At present, "China Car Valley" has built China's largest open road automatic driving demonstration area with the most scenes and the first full 5G access. There are more than 10 types of driverless taxis, driverless buses, etc. Carry out demonstration operations and technical tests of human-driven vehicles, leading the country in demonstration applications.

  At the same time, the district took the lead in releasing the pilot policy of fully unmanned commercialization of autonomous driving, built a world-class closed test field for intelligent networked vehicles, gathered more than 60 enterprises in the intelligent networked vehicle industry chain, and cooperated with Wuhan University, Tongji University, Jilin University, etc. A number of colleges and universities have established R&D and innovation platforms, and the intelligent networked automobile industry ecosystem has gradually formed.

  As one of the six major passenger vehicle production bases in China and the main battlefield of Hubei's automobile industry, Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone is currently focusing on new energy vehicles and intelligent networked vehicles, and is cooperating to create a Wanhua with the focus on "Han Xiao Sui Xiang Shi".
