From a professional business worth millions to a small club: Christian Seifert, formerly head of the German Football League ( DFL ), is investing in a small digital platform for administration in sports clubs.

The FAZ learned from financial circles that his new investment company, Reedstreet Ventures, was one of the financiers in early financing for the young Potsdam company Kurabu.

It collected 1.55 million euros from investors.

Members of the association should use Kurabu to communicate, manage data and settle contributions.

Comparable platforms are DFBNetverein, MeinVerein and Clubity.

Kurabu wants to use the fresh capital to make itself better known and expand its offering.

In addition to Seifert's Reedstreet Ventures, Brandenburg Capital, a well-known name from the venture capital scene, is a subsidiary of the Brandenburg State Investment Bank (ILB).

Upon request, a Kurabu spokesman confirmed the completion of the financing round and also the two donors.

For Seifert it is the second, albeit much smaller commitment in his life after the DFL.

In February he presented a major project together with Springer-Verlag: a platform on which the future Bundesliga should be able to stream ball sports other than football.

She has since been christened "Dyn".

Until almost a year ago, Seifert managed the business of the DFL, the operating company of the Bundesliga.

His successor, Donata Hopfen, is already on the verge of extinction in her position: the DLF supervisory board is to discuss her future on Wednesday evening.
