In turn, two officials in sales outlets said that the issuance of electronic invoices comes within the framework of digital transformation initiatives for the retail sector, noting that electronic invoices are better for consumers and stores, as they are a document that is easy to keep and refer to when necessary, while paper invoices are damaged and lost. Electronic invoices also facilitate the return and replacement process for sold goods.

In detail, the consumer, Mowaffaq Jamal, said that a famous chain of stores selling clothes, bags and shoes, with branches in a number of emirates of the country, informed him that it had stopped issuing paper purchase invoices to consumers, and asked him for the phone number to send a message on the phone that includes an electronic link to the invoice, indicating that The cashier's employee informed him that the issuance of paper invoices will be limited to consumers who refuse to receive an electronic invoice only.

He said that he agreed to the electronic invoice to evaluate the experience and determine his position in the future, indicating that the invoice includes all the details in the paper invoices, such as the purchased goods, their number, prices, return and exchange provisions, information about the store itself, and others.

The consumer, Latifa Al Shamsi, added that an employee of the sale box in a chain of stores selling furniture, furnishings and kitchen utensils asked her for a phone number to issue a message that includes an electronic link to the invoice or send it by e-mail.

I informed her that the process of issuing paper bills will be very limited, and is currently limited only to consumers who request paper bills.

The consumer, Omar Abdel Halim, agreed that shops stopped issuing paper invoices, adding that several shops selling different commodities informed him that they had stopped issuing paper purchase invoices, and replaced them with electronic invoices, and that the consumer has two options, either receiving a message with the purchase invoice via text messages that includes a link to the invoice. , or send it via e-mail.

He noted that the electronic invoice includes all the details and information related to the paper invoice, such as the purchased goods, their prices, provisions for return and exchange of goods, as well as information about the store.

For his part, the official in a commercial store, Irfan Ismail, said, "Several shops, especially large ones, have stopped issuing paper invoices, so that their issuance is now linked to consumers' insistence on obtaining them," noting that very few still insist on the invoices. Paper bills, perhaps because they fear that electronic bills will not arrive, or because of the novelty of the experience.

He explained that the issuance of electronic invoices comes within the framework of the digital transformation of the retail sector, as it is in the interest of shops and consumers together, as it is a document that can be kept and referred to when needed, while paper invoices are damaged and lost, which causes disputes between shops and consumers, especially when responding. and replacement.

An official in another commercial store in Abu Dhabi, Alex Dmitry, added that "electronic billing is a shift in the retail sector, and many commercial stores have prepared for this transformation, by modernizing and developing their systems, in line with best practices in the global retail sector."
