Ghana can climb, this December 2, in the round of 16 of the World Cup, while taking a nice revenge on history against Uruguay!

In 2010, the Black Stars were on the verge – or rather 5 – of the first semi-final in the history of African football.

But the Uruguayan star Luis Suarez, in the last seconds, had prevented the ball from entering the goal, with his hand!

Behind, the Ghanaians had missed their penalty before being eliminated on penalties.

A tragedy for African football, a heroic moment for Uruguayan fans

From our special envoy to Qatar,

His nickname, Tato, is written on his sky blue jersey.

At 64, this supporter travels to Qatar for his first World Cup: “

I remember very well.

I was with a group of friends at my house.

And at the end of the match, the sofa was broken.

The library too!

But I didn't care.

It's a good memory anyway.

The players I wear are the same as the Uruguayan players wore during the World Cup in South Africa.

They bring good luck

”.

In 2010, Uruguay, a small country with two World Cups won a very long time ago, revived its glorious history in the competition.

It's the most memorable meeting in our recent World Cup history.

Especially for people of my generation!

We haven't had World Cup victories…

”, says Nadia Fumeiro, 39, journalist.

As his voice suggests, this other reporter is a bit older.

Enough to remember 1950 and his country's last star.

And take a step back from the Suarez case: “

He was sanctioned.

He took a red, the referee whistled a penalty, that's all!

An English journalist said that the referee could have awarded the goal.

It's stupid!

Suarez is a hero, of course.

He's a good guy, a simple man who talks to everyone, who is adorable with children and he has a sporting spirit.

»

But in Qatar, if the Uruguayans defend Suarez without problems.

They must also do so under the gaze of Black Stars supporters.

In Doha, everyone meets on the metro: “

We are all friends.

We talk to them!

Fortunately, wisdom and hindsight are also Ghanaian qualities: “

Suarez made us cry, but now it's up to us to achieve something memorable, which we will still talk about in the future!
