[Explanation] December 1st marks the 10th anniversary of the opening and operation of the world's first alpine high-speed railway from Harbin to Dalian.

Over the past 10 years, the line has accumulatively operated 739,000 multiple trains, transported 670 million passengers safely, and operated a mileage of 671.17 million kilometers.

[Explanation] The Harbin-Dalian High-speed Railway starts from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province in the north, and arrives in Dalian City, Liaoning Province in the south, with a total distance of 921 kilometers.

The area along the route is located in the alpine region, with frequent rain, snow and freezing weather in winter.

After exploration and practice, China Railway Shenyang Bureau Group Co., Ltd. has formed a set of safe operation organization system to cope with severe cold and ice and snow weather, established a meteorological disaster early warning and forecast system, improved ice and snow early warning and disposal measures, and successfully responded to nearly 600 windstorms. The snow test has accumulated rich experience for the maintenance of high-speed railways in the cold.

The Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway has installed electric heating ice melting and snow removal devices on the turnouts and tracks. As long as it snows, the electric heating snow melting will be turned on immediately.

If the amount of snow is large, we will also adopt "double insurance" of electric heating and manual snow removal to ensure the normal passage of trains.

[Explanation] As the world's first alpine high-speed railway, the maximum temperature difference between winter and summer along the Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway is nearly 80°C.

China Railway Shenyang Bureau Group Co., Ltd. has fully mastered the operation and maintenance technology of the alpine high-speed railway after years of independent exploration and innovation without reference to the forming experience, and has overcome the "frost heave" control problem of the railway subgrade in the alpine area.

At present, the Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway has formed a safety management system integrating infrastructure, mobile equipment, comprehensive inspection, disaster prevention and mitigation, and emergency rescue. The technical gap ensures the safe and orderly operation of the Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway.

[Explanation] In the initial stage of the opening and operation of the Harbin-Dalian High-speed Railway, in order to ensure the safety of winter operation, the Harbin-Dalian High-speed Railway implements two operation maps in summer and winter, and operates trains at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour and 300 kilometers per hour.

From December 1, 2015, the Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway implements "one operation map for winter and summer", and runs at a speed of 300 kilometers per hour throughout the year.
