According to the corporate statistics survey released by the Ministry of Finance, the total ordinary profit of domestic companies from July to September this year was the highest ever for this period.

Profits increased in the automobile industry and in the service industry such as lodging, which boosted overall sales.

The Corporate Statistics Survey is conducted once every three months, targeting more than 30,000 companies with capital of 10 million yen or more.



Ordinary profits of domestic companies excluding finance and insurance from July to September this year were 19.8098 trillion yen, an increase of 18.3% from the same period last year.



It was the seventh consecutive quarter of profit growth and the largest for the period since comparable 1954.



Of these, the


manufacturing industry increased by 35.4%, mainly in the automobile industry, where the supply shortage of parts eased and production recovered.



▽The non-manufacturing industry increased by 5.6% due to the recovery in the performance of the service industry such as accommodation following the easing of movement restrictions.



On the other hand, business fixed investment increased by 9.8% compared to the same period last year.
