China News Agency, Beijing, December 1 (Reporter Wang Enbo) CNOOC announced on December 1 that the Shenmu-Anping Coalbed Methane Pipeline Project (referred to as "Shen'an Pipeline"), the longest long-distance coalbed methane pipeline in China, has been fully connected. , Entering trial production, will open the natural gas transmission channel in the Shanxi-Shanxi area, and provide new assistance for the supply of natural gas in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area.

The pipeline is planned and constructed by China United Coalbed Methane Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CNOOC.

The pipeline starts from Shenmu City, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province in the west, and ends in Anping County, Hengshui City, Hebei Province in the east, spanning 7 cities and 17 counties in the 3 provinces of Shaanxi, Shanxi and Hebei, with a total length of about 623 kilometers.

The gas transmission capacity of the Shen'an pipeline is 5 billion cubic meters per year. Based on the average monthly natural gas demand of a family of three at 20 cubic meters, it can meet the annual gas demand of more than 20 million households.

After the pipeline is fully connected, natural gas from western Shanxi and eastern Shaanxi can be transported to thousands of households and industrial clusters in Xiongan New Area and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, and it will be connected with the national pipeline network gas storage and LNG (liquefied natural gas) in Tianjin and Cangzhou. After the station and wharf are connected, the dual gas sources of sea gas and land gas can be complemented and peak shaving can be guaranteed.

The Shenan Pipeline started construction in July 2020, crossing the Luliang Mountains and Taihang Mountains, and successfully crossing the Yellow River, the Beijing-Guangzhou General Railway and the South-to-North Water Diversion Project; overcoming the longest rainy season and extreme cold weather in the same period in history, and withstood repeated COVID-19 epidemics shock.

With the effective construction period shortened by one-seventh, all construction tasks were completed in only 28 months, 5 months ahead of the original plan.

Dai Zhaohui, general manager of China United Coalbed Methane Co., Ltd., said that the Shenan Pipeline has supplied more than 1.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Shanxi and Hebei since it was ventilated in sections. Effectively guarantee the gas demand for people's livelihood in winter in North China.

After the whole line is completed, it will realize the interconnection of the Qinshui Basin and the eastern margin of the Ordos Basin, the two main areas of unconventional natural gas exploration and development, and fully release the production capacity of the Shanxi-Shaanxi region.
