On the 7th day of the KCTU cargo union general strike, the government and cargo union officials sat face to face for the second time, but the negotiations broke down in 40 minutes.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Cargo Solidarity had a second meeting today (30th) at 2:00 pm at the Sejong Government Complex.

This is an official conversation that took place two days after the meeting on the 28th and one day after the start of work order was issued for the cement transport workers.

On the government side, Koo Heon-sang, logistics policy officer at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Kim Tae-young, senior vice chairman of the cargo union, attended the meeting.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Cargo Solidarity had a conversation for about 40 minutes, but they could not narrow the differences by repeating only the existing position.

The government is in a position to extend the safe fare system for three years but not to expand items, but the Cargo Solidarity is demanding that the safe fare system be made permanent and the items expanded.

The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs is pushing for a three-year extension of the safe fare system, and the government cannot accept the request of the cargo union at a time when legislative procedures are underway in the National Assembly.

The Cargo Solidarity said, "The Yoon Seok-yeol government and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport have no will to talk at all."

After conducting an on-site investigation of a cement transport company in Seoul this morning, Minister Won met with reporters and emphasized, "It is meaningless to have a formal meeting to earn justification, such as taking time to continue dragging out the refusal to transport." .

The second meeting also ended without results, and the government is raising the level of pressure, such as considering expanding the order to start transportation to other fields such as steel and oil other than cement, so it seems difficult to resolve the situation through dialogue for the time being.

The government believes further dialogue is unnecessary unless the strike is withdrawn by the cargo union.
